Creating a positive legacy for Australia's renewable future

Gransolar Development Australia (GDA) is a leading development platform for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), solar photovoltaic (PV) and hybrid projects.

Since 2019, the team has successfully developed and delivered Ready to Build projects across South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, and more recently in Queensland, focusing on opportunities within the National Electricity Market (NEM).

In collaboration with landholders, stakeholders, and communities, we are pursuing more than 2,000MW in renewable projects at various stages of development in strategic locations.

Green Grid Connect

About GGC

Green Grid Connect (GGC) works alongside GDA as part of the Gransolar Group, operating in Australia as energy transition project specialists.

GGC support renewable energy infrastructure projects from design and development through to operation and maintenance. Driven by purpose and the challenge of net zero 2050, GGC bring to the industry agile project delivery that leverages the teams’ significant experience successfully delivering end-to-end high voltage projects across solar, battery, hybrid, wind and electric vehicle markets, Balance of Plant (BoP) and behind-the-meter initiatives.

How we work

We are pursuing an energy portfolio across Australia, working in regional and rural communities from South Australia to Queensland.

Each project is led by a dedicated internal team including direct engagement with landholders, to establish strong foundations for understanding, respect, and mutual long term benefits.

A suite of experienced consultants is on board to de-risk and maximise project outcomes, providing local insights with meticulous planning, investigation and delivery expertise.

Gransolar Group’s deep knowledge of energy markets, project engineering and construction, and operations and maintenance, together ensures that every opportunity is carefully planned and safely delivered with responsible, sustainable outcomes.

“We deliver robust energy assets to international sustainability standards with strong credentials, closely aligned to landholder and community expectations.”

What is BESS?

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are designed to enhance electricity grid stability especially during peak demand and contingency/unexpected events.

The batteries can be manufactured locally or imported. Each battery will capture and store energy from a renewable source like solar and release the electricity back to the grid when needed.

Installed in a compact design with a small footprint, BESS projects involve individual batteries that are approximately 2.5 metres high, 2.5 metres wide and 6 metres long. These are generally similar in size
to a 20-foot (6-metre) shipping container.

The batteries are equipped with low-noise systems and surrounded by secure fencing and landscaping. This design can enable livestock grazing and farming to continue around the asset.

BESS are low maintenance and most operate with a life span of up to 25 years.

What is Solar PV?

Photovoltaic (PV) solar energy converts sunlight to electricity through panels of PV cells that are built locally or imported.

The panels are installed in arrays (rows), mounted on frames up to 2.5 metres off the ground, which can enable livestock grazing and farming to continue underneath.

Solar ‘farms’ generally require a large land area to be commercially viable and generate reliable energy in peak and off-peak periods with no emissions.

Solar farms operate with a life span of up to 35 years.
